City Apartment 58 – 5min to Kos Beach Overview
First Impressions
When I first walked up to City Apartment 58 – 5min to Kos Beach, I’ll be honest — it doesn’t look like much from the outside. But you know what? That’s exactly what makes this place special. It’s tucked away on Alikarnasson Street in a way that feels authentically Greek, not touristy at all. The building has that lived-in charm that tells you real people actually live in this neighborhood, and as someone who’s stayed in plenty of sterile hotel complexes, I found that refreshing.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s the thing about Kos — everyone talks about being close to the beach, but this three-star property gets it right in ways that surprised me. Yes, you’re literally five minutes from Kos Beach (I timed it), but more importantly, you’re in the heart of where locals actually go about their daily lives. There’s a little bakery two blocks down where I grabbed fresh tiropita every morning, and the main shopping street is close enough that you can pop out for whatever you forgot to pack. The parking situation is honestly a game-changer — I mean, free parking in a Greek island town? That’s almost unheard of.
The Apartment Experience
The apartment itself feels like staying at a friend’s place rather than a hotel, which I actually loved. My room was simple but had everything I needed — good air conditioning (crucial in summer), a decent shower, and windows that actually opened to let in that Mediterranean breeze. The kitchen setup is basic but functional, perfect for making coffee in the morning or storing those amazing Greek yogurts from the local market. It’s not fancy, but it’s clean and comfortable, and honestly, when you’re spending most of your day exploring the island, that’s exactly what you want.
The Neighborhood Vibe
What I really appreciated was how this place sits right in a residential area where you get to see actual Greek life happening around you. In the evenings, I’d hear families chatting on their balconies and smell someone’s dinner cooking — it made me feel like I was experiencing the real Kos rather than just the tourist version. The walk to the harbor takes about ten minutes, and you pass through the old town area where there are some genuinely good tavernas that locals frequent. I stumbled into this little restaurant called Taverna Kali Kardia that way, and it ended up being my favorite meal of the trip.
Why Guests Love It
I can see why couples rate this place so highly — there’s something romantic about having your own little Greek apartment, even if it’s just for a few days. You’re not dealing with hotel crowds or rigid meal times, but you’re also not isolated from the action. The beach is close enough for spontaneous afternoon swims, the town center is walkable for evening strolls, and having that free parking means you can easily explore the rest of the island without worrying about where to leave your rental car. It’s that sweet spot between independence and convenience that makes a trip feel more like living somewhere rather than just visiting.
Early hotels booking in Bodrum secures jazz festival seats, olive grove picnics, and day trips to Kos.

It was in the center so close to the beach. Everything was so clean. There was anything that you can find in a hotel. We didn’t have to buy shampoo, hand cleanser, toilet paper and etc. There was air conditioning in every room.

A great apartment on a quiet street. Lots of locals around and I loved that. Restaurants, grocery stores, shops, coffee, all within walking distance to the house. We were so close to the beach and to the ferry landing to take a day trip over to Bodrum, Turkey. We loved the Island of Kos. The people were so friendly and welcoming. To be able to stand under Hippocrates tree was mind blowing! We would love to come back one day! Thank you for the great stay!
