This three-star hotel sits in the Marmaroto-Peleziki area of Kos Town, and while it might not have marble lobbies or doormen in white gloves, there’s something genuinely welcoming about the place. The staff actually remembers your name after the first day, which you don’t always get even at fancier spots.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s what I really appreciated about the location — you’re close enough to Kos Town to walk to the harbor and main square (maybe 15 minutes if you take your time), but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the late-night party crowd stumbling past your window. The Marmaroto area has this residential feel that gives you a peek into how locals actually live. Plus, and this matters more than you’d think, there’s free private parking right on site. I mean, try finding decent parking in the town center during summer — it’s basically impossible.

The Rooms

The rooms at Black Diamond are what I’d call “thoughtfully simple.” You’re not getting a suite with a jacuzzi, but everything works properly and the beds are actually comfortable. The air conditioning keeps up with the Greek summer heat, which is honestly half the battle. What struck me was how clean everything felt — not just surface clean, but properly maintained clean. The bathrooms are compact but functional, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped.

The Neighborhood Experience

This is where staying slightly outside the main tourist zone really pays off. There’s a little taverna about two blocks away where locals go for lunch — the kind of place where the menu changes based on what’s fresh that day. You’ll also find a small market nearby for basics like water and snacks, which saves you from paying tourist prices in town. The walk into Kos Town is pleasant, especially in the evening when the temperature drops and you can actually enjoy being outside.

Why Couples Love It

I can see why this place gets such high marks from couples — there’s something quietly romantic about the whole setup. Maybe it’s the fact that you feel like you’re staying in a real neighborhood rather than a tourist bubble, or the way the evening light hits the small terrace areas. The pace here is just different; slower in a good way. You’re not constantly surrounded by families with kids running around pools or groups of friends pre-gaming for their night out. It’s the kind of place where you can actually have a conversation over breakfast without shouting over chaos, and where taking an afternoon nap doesn’t feel like you’re missing out on some resort activity. Sometimes the best vacation moments happen when you’re not trying so hard to have them.

  Big room with a small kitchen and a small bathroom. Bonus point was the balcony as i am a smoker and i like to have a place dedicated for this. The room was having air conditioning which is a must in Greece. Also we had everything we needed in the small kitchen, like a fridge a small electric stove, a kettle, utensils and a small sink.
  The location was pretty quiet, but a bit far from the beach. The staff was super nice and the accommodation had free parking lots and a bike rental option. They also had a small terrace where they served drinks or food near the pool. In the reception you could also find cold drinks and some snacks.
