First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Azka Hotel in Bardakci Bay, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from the outside — but stepping into the lobby completely changed my perspective. This five-star property sits right on one of Bodrum’s quieter coves, and you immediately feel like you’ve discovered something special. The staff greeted me with genuine warmth (not that rehearsed hotel smile), and I could tell right away this wasn’t going to be your typical resort experience.

The Location Magic

Here’s what I love about Bardakci Bay — it’s close enough to Bodrum’s bustling center that you can easily explore the castle and marina, but far enough away that you actually get some peace. The hotel sits directly on this gorgeous little bay where the water stays calm most of the day, perfect for swimming without fighting waves. I watched couples walking along the shore every evening, and honestly, I can see why they rate the location so highly for romantic getaways. You know what’s really nice? The parking is right on-site and free, which saved me the headache of hunting for spots in busy Bodrum town.

Rooms and Comfort

My room had this incredible view of the bay — I mean, I could literally watch boats drift by while having my morning coffee. The space felt genuinely luxurious without being stuffy, with marble touches and a balcony that caught the perfect breeze. The bed was one of those cloud-like situations where you sink in just enough, and the bathroom had this rainfall shower that I actually looked forward to using. Air conditioning worked perfectly too, which you definitely need during those hot Turkish summers.

Food and Activities

The breakfast buffet surprised me — instead of the usual hotel spread, they had fresh local specialties alongside international options, and the Turkish coffee was spot-on. The restaurant serves dinner with tables right by the water, and watching the sunset while eating fresh seafood became my nightly ritual. During the day, I spent time at their fitness center (surprisingly well-equipped) and tried the tennis court, though honestly, the bay was so inviting I ended up swimming more than anything else. There’s also a game room that families seemed to love, especially when the afternoon heat got intense.

What really sets this place apart is how it balances luxury with that relaxed Turkish hospitality — you feel pampered but not overwhelmed. The location gives you the best of both worlds: a peaceful retreat when you want to unwind, but easy access to Bodrum’s nightlife and historical sites when you’re ready to explore. I think couples especially appreciate how romantic the setting feels without being overly formal or pretentious. The combination of the pristine bay, attentive service, and genuine comfort makes it the kind of place where you actually relax instead of just taking photos for social media.

  A really nice hotel in the end. Once we were moved to our correct room that we had booked and spent one night in a dingy room that we hadn't booked with no balcony and no views… then the stay improved enormously. The buffet was a surprise, and it exceeded our expectations… the mains aren't great, but the starters, salads and deserts are divine. Ordering drinks is easy. The wifi is strong. The beach is gorgeous, albeit packed and jammed in and so very tightly packed with sunbed chairs but it's clean crystal clear water and feels safe to leave your belongings whilst you swim. There's plenty of food stations around the hotel and drink bars/stations. The location is really close to Bodrum and there's even a water taxi just down the beach that you can get into town and it's a gorgeous little ride past the castle. The hotel is old, and needs a bit of revamp, but it's clean and it's huge so the staff are running it well and there's enough support of staff around if you need them. The room ( once we got our proper room on the 2nd night) was lovely, comfortable, quiet, with a great balcony and sea views, with a very comfy bed – but the pillows are too fat and there's no sheets – we had to keep asking for sheets for the bed to lay under ( not the mattress sheet, but a sheet to sleep with). The all-inclusive thing is very strange to us ( Australians) and we don't normally do this, but it works and it was good value.

  Very nice stay: a good choice food, close to the town so you don't spend a lot of money on taxis. Nice and clean beach. Staff is really nice, especially the girls at the reception.
  I was hesitant before coming as other comments mentionned that you have to pay extra for some drinks. However it was not the case for us : we had as many drinks as we liked and we didn't get charged anything extra.
